Our Story

How it all started...

Founded in December 1972 by Bishop Joseph Moss, Glorious Church of Christ began from a vision to be a light in South Florida — a place where people could experience Christ in spirit and in truth. From very humble beginnings, Bishop Moss committed to building a church rooted in holiness, faith, and love. Over the years, the church grew beyond its physical walls, embracing worship, teaching, and ministry that touched not just its congregation, but the broader community in meaningful ways.

For more than 50 years, Glorious Church has stood as a spiritual anchor in the lives of many — providing a place of refuge, spiritual growth, and restoration. It’s been a place where individuals, families, and leaders are nurtured, where singing, praying, and serving aren’t just Sunday routines but expressions of everyday faith.
If you want, I can also try to dig up even more historical anecdotes (for example: first building location, initial congregation size, notable events under Bishop Moss) so that the story is more vivid for site visitors.

Expanding the vision...

As the years passed, Glorious Church of Christ continued to grow both in number and in influence. What began as a small gathering of faithful believers under the leadership of Bishop Joseph Moss developed into a thriving ministry known for its prayer, worship, and strong teaching of God’s Word. The church became a beacon of hope in South Florida — a place where families could find strength, the hurting could find healing, and people from all walks of life could encounter the love of Christ.

Throughout its history, Glorious Church has expanded its reach through community engagement and service. From supporting local families and mentoring youth to raising up ministers and leaders, the church has always sought to live out the call of Christ in practical ways. Ministries of outreach, fellowship, and discipleship became the heartbeat of the church, ensuring that the Gospel was not only preached but demonstrated.

This vision of expansion was not limited to programs and events — it was about building people. Generations have been shaped by the ministry of Glorious Church, with many going on to serve in leadership, ministry, and missions, carrying the DNA of holiness, prayer, and service wherever God has led them.

Where we are headed...

Today, Glorious Church of Christ is entering a new season — one that honors the foundation laid by Bishop Joseph Moss, builds upon decades of ministry growth, and unites the vision of two streams into one. For more than 50 years, Glorious Church has been a spiritual anchor in South Florida. In 2020, during the challenges of the global pandemic, Pastor Norman L. Hodge, Jr. and his wife, Sister Consuelo Hodge, launched Triumph Life Church as an online ministry to continue spreading the Gospel when many doors were closed. God used Triumph Life to reach people beyond our local walls, creating new opportunities for connection, teaching, and outreach.

Now, God has brought these ministries together. Glorious Church and Triumph Life have been joined as one, carrying forward a united mission. Under Pastor Hodge’s leadership, the church is being renewed for greater impact — committed to both preserving our rich heritage and embracing new methods to reach today’s generation.

Our focus moving forward is three-fold:
  • Spiritual Growth: Preaching and teaching the unchanging Word of God while raising disciples who live out their faith daily.
  • Community Impact: Expanding outreach that serves families, supports the hurting, and provides hope throughout South Florida.
  • Kingdom Expansion: Using modern tools, including online ministry and media, to spread the Gospel locally and globally.

We believe the future of Glorious Church is bright — a church alive with worship, strong in prayer, united in love, and filled with the Spirit of God. Together, we are preparing for a greater harvest and positioning ourselves to leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
